MSA cross country challenge competition licence
The MSA have issued the following statement:-

Regulation P24.2.1 should therefore read: “At events of National B status and above and all Competitive Safaris, Timed Trials, Team Recovery, Point to Point, Challenge Events and Junior Trials, Drivers must produce a Competition Licence [as detailed in Section H], and Passengers must produce a valid Club Membership Card.”

The MSA Cross Country Executive has confirmed that all drivers competing in Cross Country Challenge events will require an MSA Competition licence for all events in 2010 going forward. This has been published in the 2010 MSA Competitors and Officials Year Book ( The MSA Blue Book) We are in the process of contacting all competitors that have entered so far to make them aware of the change and any implications.

Driver at events other than Competitive Safaris, Timed Trials, Team Recovery, Point to Point, Challenge Events and Hill Rallies up to and including Clubman Status, must produce a valid Club membership Card.
N24,2,1 (From MSA Blue Book)
At events of National B status and above and all Competitive Safaris, Timed Trials, Team Recovery, Point to Point, (Challenge Events) and Junior Trials, drivers must produce Competition Licence [as detailed in Section H], and Passengers must produce a valid club membership card.
The Crosss Country Executive stated that the words Challenge Events shown in brackets above have been from the Blue Book but will be corrected and be adhered to from the 1st January 2010.
We would like to apologies for the late communication of this issue, but it was not brought to our attention until our championship permit got autherised. prior to this the event permits had already been approved.
All Competitors that Drive will need to apply for a Cross Country Non Race Clubman Competition Licence (LFA) at a cost of £23 ( The Minimum Standard Required) This Licence will need to be presented at Signing on at every event. Failure to produce the Licence could mean that you will be unable to compete in the event (or be fined). The MSA will be carrying out event audits to make sure of compliance.
Only MSA Competition licence holders can drive during the event, so if your Winch Person drives during the event they too will need to apply.

Please note it can take up to 10 days to turn your Competition Licence Round, So in order for you to have it in your possession for Round 1on 18th April 2010. Please apply for it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. You may not be allowed to compete on the event without it! and will be subject to a fine..
