Minutes of Buxton and District Land Rover Club

23rdMarch 2015, 7:30pm at Chapel-en-le-frith


PRESENT: Dave Theaker (DT); Nicki Theaker (NT); Nev Brindley (NB); Vee Brindley (VB); Mich Whiting (MW); Joe Moss (JM); Nic White (NW).

Minutes of last meeting


Checked and agreed as accurate.


Land Rover Shows-Billing


Pitches for club stands will not be allocated til 31/05/15, but we will assume the club is going! James Foster-Johnson has agreed to attend, but all agreed they need other club members to support manning the stand. D & NT are hoping to go, as is MW.


Both marquees will be needed-one to house the track, the other for the club stand.


Await confirmation of the stand allocation.


PlayDay, Sunday, 24th. May 2015


Site: NB volunteering to level the camping area-at least to level the track.


Toilets: to be hired. NT has contacted and had quotes from 2 firms. We will use Andy Loos, who will provide 2 loos for up to 200 visitors on the Sunday event. Delivery will be Sat eve or Sunday early am.


Refreshment van: Zoe Riley provided VB with a contact-this burger van is provisionally booked for the Sunday.


Entry gazebo: Phil Hunter is storing this-he will bring to site an d JM will take home with him ready for Billing.


Pressure washer: Currently stored at NB’s.


Will need bringing to the site for Playday.


Fencing: DT has this, and will ensure it is available for the event. MW keen to ensure we create ‘safe areas’, recognising our duty of care to keep spectators safe.


Charging: £25 per car to play. £1 to spectate (over 12 years old). Members:£10 per car to play. Free for members rotad to marshal/help.


First Aid: The Club has a first aid kit which will updated for use at the event. NT is a registered First Aider, but will not be present at the Playday. NW expressed interest in official training for this role, and the club agreed to pay for the training required.


MSA: DT will locate and supply the necessary forms for the event.


DT still waiting confirmation from the Landlord that this can happen.


Ensure a club member is on site for collection and drop-off.


VB will confirm the booking nearer the time.


NW will help with transport of the washer to the site


NT updating the kit.


NW to find a First Aid course-will check if possible through the workplace. Aim to train by the event.




Green laning


No contact from Rhian Sharp , who had offered to lead a group.


Await volunteers to run these events.


Christmas meal 2014          


Proposed date: 5th. December. Bull in t’ thorn unlikely to be an option- Mick moving on,   so NT proposing th Duke of York , A515-offering a meal at £25/pp, and camping available. Based on 40 people attending.


NT to make further enquiries.




On Sunday 12th April, The Buckingham Hotel, Buxton, 6pm. Agenda: elections, interval, treasurers report, AoB.


Directors Insurance


NT researching, awaiting quotes, will ensure this cover is in place for the Playday.


NT following up.




From NT: £1195 surplus at the year end.


Trials contributed £575 to this.




Trials scorecards: to continue using these as benefits recognised, and seems to speed up the proceedings.


 Meeting closed at 9.45pm.
