  • Calendar Date Update

Please note we have had to make a couple of changes to our calendar due to situations beyond our control.

  • Vnuk ACT NOW!

Many MSA members will be aware of Vnuk, a 2014 European Court judgement that threatens the future of all UK motorsport.

The Court ruled that the requirement for compulsory insurance should cover any use of a vehicle, so long as that use is consistent with the normal function of the vehicle. This would require all competition cars in motorsport to have compulsory third party insurance.

This issue requires you to act now to protect our sport!!!

An extract from the diary of Caitland Lomas / Diff lock destruction by my little sister, Suncream and sunshine for spring bank holiday, it was time for a trip to the Cheshire plains and a meeting with some very special chums from the Buxton and District Landrover Club. Percy Landrover scampered down the twisting lanes beyond Congelton to find his four wheel drive cousins,

the discoveries and the tough little defender chaps were all over the hillside at Mow Cop. Morgause took the chance to give Percy Landrover a run around the field. She was in for the surprise of her life.

The TYRO trial for newcomers was on. Joe stepped forward to offer Morgause his short wheel base defender compertion red racer. Wow, skyscraper height suspension, everything stripped for weight, air conditioned, not even a windscreen! Harness and competition seats fit for a Ferrari. An offer not be refused, Morgause leapt in, Joe engaged difflock and she was away into the trial pennants.

Four stages, a giant rock leapt out to push her off the stage one turn, stage two on the flat for a test of tight turns, no problem for my champion motor crosser sister. This was the easy stage so Daddy and I let Percy Landrover have a run with his mates, we were given one shunt advantage, 'that's a reverse to help with our length.' It was not enough as we flattened half the course markers. Third stage was on the hillside, lean angle off the scale. Morgause powered the red racer into the banking for a fierce right turn, as she went vertical to take a look at the moon the mighty red defender said no more. The rear diff snapped and with only two wheel drive left she was defeated.
Youngest in the trial on her first four wheel drive compertion, Ed stepped in with his road legal blue defender, still had big munchy tyres, a silver roll bar for safety and two inch steps on the suspension. It was full manual, clutch and diff handle. Morgause, now in her third Landrover drive of the day entered stage four. A steep rocky set of turns and a reversing challenge to finish.

She was victorious to clear the stage, wow what a sister, Victoria sponge cake and tea to celebrate with club chums in the sunshine of a field of dreams for Morgause on her first drive. Repairs, Joe and his team already had the rear diff out and the carnage was clear, club mates had parts en route, repairs a foot by morning.
