Your Friendly Land Rover Club
Land rover Series 3 I bought the Land Rover in September 2003. Since then I have spent a considerable amount of money on it, both mechanically and cosmetically. It now has a Defender front end, complete re-spray in Bonatti Grey, full chequer plate kit, tinted windows for security, CD player, alarm and immobiliser. Next on the list is new seating front and rear in Techno trim and chequer plating in the rear. Parabolic springs will also eventually be fitted. Whilst in my hands, the vehicle has never been off-road, and now it has been re-sprayed, it probably never will be!! It has featured in Land Rover Owner International twice (Readers Rovers), once in May 2004 and again in December 2004. I have obtained from the DVLA a complete history of ownership, which reveals it spent the first 10 years of it's life in Perthshire. It was then destined for the scrapheap behind Lix Toll Garage, until a buyer demanded a full refurbishment, prior to purchasing it. Following that, it spent the next 11 years in and around Lincolnshire and Leicestershire, finally ending up with me in Nottingham. The family I bought it off actually owned it twice in 4 years. So, what is the future for Bertie? Lots more money spent on him, and plenty of TLC! Range Rover V8 I bought the vehicle in June 2005, only 1 week after having my fingers burnt by purchasing a complete wreck of a Range Rover off eBay. Unfortunately, the description on eBay did not exactly match the quality of the vehicle - but that's another story! This "nice & shiny" example has been very well looked after and maintained, and to date, has had no modifications. My plans for the future are to have a complete respray, and possibly a 2" lift. It currently sits on AT tyres, so maybe it will see some light non-damaging off roading at one of the club meets. Motors of Adrian Brooking This page was last updated on 08/05/2008
