Cross Country Trial(CCT) :- Trials consist of various types of vehicle class from standard to modified. These events take place over undulating ground using about 10 sections each having 10 gates. The object is to start at the ten gate and drive to the one gate without hitting any gates (canes) and without loosing forward motion or having to reverse. Although this is allowed in some classes for LWB vehicles. The  winner is the driver achieving the lowest score. Please note that we now offer a super-MOD. trials class for those of you with lockers fitted.

Tyro:- This basically stands for Try Your Rover Out, this is the entry level event for new comers and young drivers and showroom vehicles. The vehicle should be standard. The event takes place over very mild terrain and should be of the none damaging nature. We would recommended these events to anybody wanting to start trialing, As it can sometimes be a bit disheartening to turn up at a trial event with 20ish competitors and a novices not do very well against all our regulars. Tyros are a much better starting point as the entry is lower and the very nature of the terrain will give you a better chance to get to grips with your vehicle off road. We run a number of these events throughout the year and they also form part of our Tyro Championship.

Timed Trial :-  As the title suggests the time trail is a trials type section run against the clock. In the timed trial if you hit any gates you incur a penalty but carry on to the finish. The Winner is the person with the least penalty points. These events are set up on trials type ground but is less demanding. There are a number of safety requirements that have to be met in order to compete in this type of event as laid out in the MSA blue book.

Comp Safari:-  This type of event is quickly becoming the most popular form of off road motor sport. This type of event is a progression from the Timed Trail. A Comp Safari takes place over a 1-5 mile course and has a average speed of about 30  MPH at clubman's level. The competitors have to complete a number of runs depending on number of entrants within a given time. the winner is the person that completed all the runs with the best overall time. All vehicles taking part in these events must meet MSA Comp Safari Regulation.

Challenge Event's This type of event consists as the title suggests of a number of different challenges that have to be carried out carried in your vehicle to get to punches, you then punch your score card the number visited is used to calculate your final score. The event can be for teams of two vehicles or single vehicles depending on the type of event. The vehicles taking part in these event need to meet the requirements of the MSA a detailed in the current MSA blue book.

Public Play Days:-  The club has traditionally organized a series of off road play days at Hartington Quarry near Biggin Derbyshire. These events have now become very popular for all makes of 4x4. The club pride themselves in being able to offer these events in a friendly manner but maintaining the safety of the event at the same time. These events are run to MSA promotional event standards, and we offer first aid cover, all marshals are in radio contact with event control, Toilets, Catering, Free Wheels wash when required, and as much help and advise as you may need.
